Kiryat Gat is a rapidly developing city. The mikvah on Ycehezkel Street is centrally located on a major thoroughfare and serves thousands of families, making it an important center for taharat ha’mishpachah in the city.
The existing mikvah is very old, and its deteriorated physical condition has led to a consistent and significant decline in the number of women using the facility. The aging structure no longer meets the community’s basic needs, creating an urgent need for an all-inclusive renovation that will restore the chance for women to use the facility in dignified, respectful, and comfortable surroundings.
The mikvah serves a broad cross-section of the community, including Ultra-Orthodox, National-Religious, traditional, secular, and newly observant women. Upgrading the facility into a modernized, welcoming dignified mikvah will help the city of Kiryat Gat meet the needs of its rapidly growing population and create a facility that serves women from across the city
